Day
01: Cochin- Kumarakom Backwater
AM: On arrival at Cochin airport
/ Ernakulam Railway station, you will be met by our representative and
will transfer you to Hotel Kumarakom. On arrival at Kumarakom check in
to hotel. Kumarakom is a unique backwater destination situated on the
banks of Vembanad Lake. (Optional) PM we take you to Kumarakom Bird
Sanctuary. It is also a center for houseboat cruises. Overnight stay in
hotel.
Day
02: Kumarakom- Village Backwater Cruise
AM 0900 Hrs after
breakfast we take you to Village Backwater Cruise. A nearby village and
3-hour backwater cruise on a non-mechanized traditional country boat
rowed by two villagers through the narrow canals of different villages.
Visit coir village and coconut farms (Optional) &. A rare chance to
see spice plants like pepper, coffee, cloves, nutmeg, pineapple, wild
pineapple, and betel leaves etc. 15 minutes walk around the village
under coconut palm trees and watch traditional coconut plucking.
Overnight stay in hotel, Kumarakom.
Day 03: Kumarakom-
House Boat
AM 0900 Hrs after breakfast check out from the hotel,
and we take you to Houseboat. Check into a traditional houseboat of
Kerala Style and go on a leisurely backwater cruise along the lake on a
thatched houseboat. The houseboat with all modern comforts lets you
discover the countryside at your own pace. You will have lunch, dinner
and breakfast in the Houseboat. A ride on the houseboat is a fabulous
way to explore the fascinating beauty of the backwaters. Overnight stay
in house boat.
Day 04: Houseboat- Alappuzha
AM at
leisure on House Boat. Later at 1000 Hrs boat arrives at Alleppey
finishing point jetty. On arrival check out from houseboat after
breakfast and we transfer you to Alappuzha. On arrival Alappuzha check
into hotel. The alluring Alappuzha with its lovely lakes, lagoons and
the fresh water rivers will not fail to sweep you off your feet. The
stunningly gorgeous Venice of the East has more than the boat races,
houseboats, beaches, marine products and the coir industry; Alappuzha is
home to the diverse animal and bird life. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day
05: Alappuzha -Kuttanad
AM 0900 Hrs after breakfast check out
from hotel we take you to Kuttanad. On arrival Kuttanad check in to
hotel. Kuttanad in the heart of the backwaters of Alappuzha owing to its
richness of the paddy crops is referred to as the rice bowl of Kerala.
Because of her wealth of paddy crops, is the very heart of the
backwater. The scenic countryside here is a rich crop of bananas, yams
and cassava. This one of the places in the world where farming is done
below sea level. Inland waterways which flow above land level are an
amazing feature of this unique land. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day
06: Kuttanad- Pathiramanal
AM 0900 Hrs after breakfast we take
you to Pathiramanal. According to mythology a young Brahmin dived into
the Vemabanad Lake to perform his evening ablutions and the water made
way for land to rise from below, thus creating the enchanting island of
Pathiramanal (sands of midnight). This little island on the backwater is
a favorite haunt of hundreds of rare migratory birds from different part
of the world. The island lies between Thaneermukkom and Kumarakom, and
is accessible only by boat. Overnight stay in hotel. Kuttanad.
Day
07: Departure
AM: At leisure, later we will pick up from Hotel
and transfer you to Cochin airport / Railway station. End of Tour /
services.
